Hugh and Crystal before the split
Hugh Hefner, 85, has been stood up by his fiancée, Crystal Harris. The 25-year-old was set to walk the aisle at the weekend but has called off the wedding with just five days to go.
“The breakup is a heartbreaker, but better now than after the marriage,” tweeted Hugh. It would have been the third wedding for Hugh but Crystal had “a change of heart”.
“After much deep reflection and thought I have decided to end my engagement with Hef. I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward. I hope the media will give each of us the privacy we deserve during this time.”
So, what will Hugh be doing now at the weekend instead of celebrating his nuptials in front of 300 people? “Since we’re not getting married on Saturday, I’ve scheduled a movie – Runaway Bride seems appropriate.”
At least Hugh’s humours hasn’t left him along with his girl.
