I remember seeing a trailer for a film a few months ago that was of two people slowly dancing, in 40’s or 50’s clothing, to a piece of music. It wasn’t really what you would call a trailer, but it did make me interested in the film, especially as it was starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston. So when I sat down at this press screening, and the first shot came up on the screen, it suddenly dawned on me that this was that film!
Well, it had a phenomenal display of acting, some masterfully delicate directing, and a generally absorbing and slow paced relationship drama. But, the main thing I got from it was that even in the 50′s people were involved in damaging and dysfunctional romantic relationships. So hey, if you’re in one, don’t worry, it’s been happening for a long time!
