Talk about your six degrees of icky separation.
Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods’ beleaguered ex-wife, is reportedly dating a guy named Jamie Dingman. He’s as filthy rich as she is because he’s an investor and the son of a billionaire and all, so at least she doesn’t have to worry he’s after her enviable bank account (Nordegren got upwards of $200 million in the divorce, or roughly a quarter for every woman Woods boinked during his marriage).
By all accounts, Dingman is handsome and gentlemanly and kind and patient and probably spends his time off volunteering in children’s hospitals and saving the spotted owl and helping little old ladies cross the street.
Yawn. Whatever.
Here’s where it gets interesting.
TMZ did a little detective work and found out Tiger’s most famous mistress, Rachel Uchitel, used to date Jamie Dingman. So Elin is banging a guy who used to bang a chick who used to bang her ex-husband.
Ew, right? But it gets even creepier.
When Rachel told Jamie about her affair with Tiger, Jamie volunteered to exit stage left — but not before joking, “That’s ok. I’ll date his wife, Elin.”
Eek!
And then — AND THEN — it turns out Rachel and Jamie were living in the same house when the Tiger scandal went public. Seems they were doing the whole “Three’s Company” thing too because they had another roommate, Jen Madden, who wound up selling the story about the Rachel/Tiger affair to the tabloids because she’d been privy to conversations between Rachel and Jamie about it.
See, this is why I don’t bother reading fiction. Who needs it when you have shit like this going on among real live people? Even JK Rowling herself couldn’t write a plot turn this thick.
It’s like Tiger is the new Kevin Bacon. Find fewer than six shared beds between him and the person in question and you win!
Jesus. Can’t poor Elin go out and find herself a nice billionaire who doesn’t have the taint of Tiger Woods all over him?
(Ha! I said “taint.”)
