is often all about bluster, costumes, mad statements, LGBT love and support, crazy industrial dance pop and shocking visuals… But she can also play piano and sing real nice-like, as we’re reminded with her just posted performance where she delivers a quietly grand version ofby sitting at the piano and singing. It’s simple and pretty darn lovely.
AND — I’m gonna go there — when, for this (on the show) she kicks off the number with a musical-intro nod to Kander and Ebb’s “Cabaret” I just sort of realized: If they were going to remake the Lady Gaga would be perfect to star in the Liza Minnelli/Sally Bowles role.
Don’t freak out. I’ll be the first to say that is one of my favorite films of all time and does need a remake. The original is flawless. But I do think that Gaga might be capable of doing a pretty fine job in the role of Sally, the kooky, lost nightclub chanteuse surrounded by gay pals and whacked out derelicts as the world crumbles around her. And that is all. Danke.
